A Vernon Parish sheriff's deputy has died after he lost control of his car and crashed in a construction zone on Louisiana Highway 8 east of the Calcasieu Loop.

After that, investigators say his car went off the left side of the road and collided with two dirt compactors and a large roadway stabilizer.
