Spiritual DNA

It was a day I needed to be strong. It was a battle from the time I woke up. I began to fight the physical and spiritual fatigue by saying, out loud, “I am strong! I am strong! I am strong!” As I repeated those words my faith begin to pick up. I was tapping into the strength of God and began to say, “YOU make me strong! “You make me strong! “You make me strong!” God’s strength began to swallow up my weakness as I continued seeking Him to supply my need for the day. Then the thought occurred to me – God is in me! God is in me! God is in me! This isn’t new, but this truth began permeating my spirit, really sinking in. I began to think of the attributes of God Almighty and the fact that I was His child. You are His child. We have His DNA in us! I started to get happy, not only strong, but full of joy!

I believe the Lord was reminding me that not only do we receive from Him through prayer and obedience to His Word, but also through the power that is at work within us, because HE IS IN US! We have two types of inheritance. The things given to us from His vast storehouse, the things He owns and freely gives us because we believe on His Son, like freedom, forgiveness, provision, direction, purpose, peace, joy, the cattle on a 1000 hills. We have a rich inheritance because our Father is RICH! There is a second type of inheritance called heredity. Those are the characteristics we receive while we are being made, stitched together, formed and fashioned by the hand of God, our Father. We are born again when we receive Christ and we receive a new nature, new chromosomes. Chromosomes carry things from one generation to another. God passes over us and leaves behind His genetic material in us! Wow!

Our genetic code transfers the traits of Father God to us! Our inheritance doesn't just come from without, but also from WITHIN! Spiritual DNA-GOD in us! Do we really comprehend what we are made of? We are created in His image! We have strength, courage, love, wisdom, patience, the ability to forgive, etc in our DNA!

Eph 3:20 is posted below as well as several other scriptures that confirm that we are the children of God. Look at Eph 3:20….look at what God can do! MORE than we can ask or think! How? According to the power that works in us! I believe this is the supernatural ability we receive through our new DNA. Let us remember today WHO we are and more importantly WHOSE we are! Not only does God supply what we need, but He provides who we need to BE!

Eph 3:20-To Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us!

Romans 8:15-17 (New International Version)
15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.[a] And by him we cry, "Abba,[b] Father." 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

John 1:11-13 (New International Version)
11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13children born not of natural descent,[a] nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

Ephesians 5
1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
Philippians 2:14-16 (New International Version)
14Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16as you hold out[a] the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.

1 John 3
1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,[a]we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

1 John 4:4-5 (New International Version)
4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.

Joshua 14:8-10 (New International Version)
8 but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly. 9 So on that day Moses swore to me, 'The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.'
