Hope, Reality Collide

The Headline read "Hope, Reality Collide". It could've been a headline from my life. How often does our hope or faith, which is our spiritual rudder get stuck in the quagmire of what we see in the natural? The noise of changing circumstances screams, “I am your reality.”

I love Hebrews 11:1 in the Amplified translation - NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

God’s Word is not only truth that gives us reason to hope, it is FACT. It is our reality before we ever see it manifest. Romans 4:17(below) talks about Abraham being the father of faith. He is our example. He believed that God was able to give life to the dead and call things that were not as though they were! WOW!!!!

My guess is that like me, there is plenty on your doorstep that is not as you would want it to be. Whatever area that may touch, do not allow your hope in God to be crushed by what you see. He calls those things you are looking at…your circumstances, those things which seem to prance around before you contradicting His promise…those things which are not. Faith believes, even when all your natural eye can see is in stark contrast of what you are believing for. Faith calls those things which are NOT, as though they were. Our peace is not tied to the manifestation of what we are hoping for. Our peace is directly linked to our faith that God is able. Let the enemy taunt all day long through circumstances, there is peace in believing God is FAITHFUL who has promised! (Hebrews11:11 below)

There will be no shortage of “reality” challenging our hope on any given day. It is up to us to ask ourselves – “Whose report will we believe?” May our answer be – We will believe the report of the Lord! Faithful is He that has promised!

Romans 4:16-Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 17As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations."[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. 18Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be."[b]

Hebrews 11:11-By faith even (A)Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him (B)faithful who had promised.

2 Cor 4:17(NIV)-For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
