God Is The Ultimate Recycler

2 Cor 1:4- Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

I was reading an article about this new, "souped up" garbage truck. It read -“The waste we collect helps power over a million homes.” The writer went on to say -"Now, that’s cool! Garbage recycled into power that helps a lot of lives.” This truck basically collected the garbage and that garbage was then converted to power. The garbage became a resource that supplied power to over a million homes! That is phenomenal! Can the garbage we go through, the junk of life really be worth something? Can it be useful? Does it have VALUE? YES - Absolutely - In the hands of God, your junk can become treasure, both in your life and in the lives of others!

Think about the garbage we all go through in life. Through Christ we prevail through the messes. Sometimes we make the mess. Sometimes we are dealing with the garbage of others that affects us. One way or the other God helps us get to the other side. He carrys us through. At that point, our garbage can be recycled into “power”. It is power in our lives. If we have made mistakes(and we all have!), we can come to know, by experience, the truth of the scripture - In our weakness, His strength is made perfect. (2Cor 12:9) We can then say that God took what the enemy meant for harm and turned it to good! We can bodly say, "All things DO work together for GOOD to those who love God and are called according to His purpose."(Rms 8:28)It is also power that helps others get through their problems or trials. I think most of us look at times or seasons of our lives and we write them off as wasted time. With God NOTHING is wasted. God was the first recycler - He can take the garbage, the junk and convert it into power and treasure, both in our lives and in the lives of others!

2 Corinthians 1:4 (Amplified Bible)
4Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (New International Version)
9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Romans 8:28 (New International Version)
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[a] who[b] have been called according to his purpose.
