Is Your Prayer Like Throwing a Stick or a Boomerang?

Recently my mother was scheduled to have eye surgery. She is diabetic and has lost sight in one eye. The pressure in her good eye was dangerously high. The doctor said they needed to do surgery as soon as possible. My Mom got the flu and the surgery was postponed. She needed to have her strength for the surgery, so we prayed for her to recover quickly. We also prayed that God would watch over the eye in the mean time. Surgery was scheduled again and canceled.

My first response after the second cancellation was WORRY...about the good eye...then the Lord reminded me of the scripture that says, "May His mercy be unto them in proportion to their hope and expectation in Him." That got me excited and reveresed my thinking and praying about it...It also prompted me to remind God of my Mom's hope and expectation in Him...here's what I wrote as a result-

How good is God? In reality we canít measure how good God is. He is so big, so powerful, so gracious. We do however have the opportunity to taste more of His goodness as a result of our hope or expectation in Him. The measure of our hope and expectation is directly related to the measure of the what we receive from the Lord. Ps 33:22-May it be unto them in proportion to their hope in you.

God promised to move in our lives in proportion to our expectation/hope in Him. Prayer with faith is like throwing a boomerang that goes out from our spirit to the Father & returns back to us with something from the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Prayer without faith or expectation is like throwing a stick. Lord help my unbelief and transform my stick/prayer into a boomerang!

Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. (KJV)Ps 33:22- Amplified -Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.

Hebrews 11:1 & 6 (Amplified Version)
NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

6- (KJV)But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

James 5:16 (New International Version)
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Psalm 33:17-23 (King James Version)

An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. (KJV)Ps 33:22- Amplified -Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.
